Lucknow Super Giants’ cricketer Deepak Hooda showcased his fielding prowess by taking an excellent catch to dismiss Tilak Verma during the match against Mumbai Indians. Verma, who had shown great promise with two massive sixes, was looking dangerous before Hooda’s acrobatic effort sent him back to the pavilion. Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat first in the encounter against Lucknow Super Giants.
Once again, the openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan failed to make a significant impact with their batting. However, Cameron Green and Suryakumar Yadav joined forces to form a formidable partnership of 66 runs in just 38 balls. Their fearless approach helped Mumbai Indians recover from a shaky start at 38-2. Despite the sluggish pitch, the duo played with confidence and aggression. By the end of the 17th over, Mumbai Indians had reached a score of 149-5.

In the 18th over, bowled by Naveen-ul-Haq, Tilak Verma struggled to time a slower ball outside off and ended up offering a catch to Deepak Hooda at long-off. Hooda, although momentarily losing his balance, managed to hold onto the catch. Naveen-ul-Haq has been impressive with his control over line and length throughout the innings and has now taken four wickets. Mumbai Indians’ score stood at 159-6 after 17.3 overs.
Lucknow Super Giants will be aiming to restrict Mumbai Indians to a total below 180 runs, considering the presence of veteran spinner Piyush Chawla in the opposition’s lineup, who has been in exceptional form. The performance of Mohsin Khan at the end of the innings will also be crucial for Lucknow Super Giants.
