In the recent IPL 2024 encounter between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), skipper Faf du Plessis faced disappointment with the bat at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Despite his efforts, RCB couldn’t secure victory in the chase of 182 runs.
The match began with RCB showing promising intent during the powerplay overs, with du Plessis and Virat Kohli showcasing their batting prowess. Du Plessis, in particular, displayed impressive strokeplay, delighting the crowd with his shots.

However, du Plessis’ innings was abruptly halted by an exceptional fielding effort from Devdutt Padikkal of LSG. As du Plessis attempted to push for a single off Mayank Yadav’s delivery, the ball found its way to mid-wicket, where Padikkal swiftly collected it.
Padikkal’s lightning-quick reflexes and accurate throw saw du Plessis fall short of his crease, resulting in his dismissal. This pivotal moment shifted the momentum in favor of LSG, positioning them in a commanding position at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
