When it comes to the game reading ability, there is no one smarter than former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Over the last few years, we have seen him guiding the spinners behind the wickets and they eventually end up with a wicket after following his instructions. The latest such example involves Krunal Pandya, who dismissed Colin Munro listening to the instructions of Dhoni.
New Zealand was batting first in the opening T20 International against India. Kiwi batsmen came out with all guns blazing and hit Indian bowlers to all corners of the park. Munro began the destruction by hitting the Indian bowlers for cleaners. Krunal was too leaking some runs but as soon as he heard a piece of wise advice from Dhoni, he managed to dismiss Munro.

The Kiwi openers provided a good start to their team and looted 66 runs from the powerplay. It was Munro who turned the heat on visiting bowlers and Tim Seifert took no time to inspire from his teammate. But the former was outsmarted by Dhoni’s excellent cricketing brain as he miscued one Krunal ball to Vijay Shankar near the ropes.

Though senior Pandya managed just one wicket he was very economical, unlike his teammates. He and Yuzvendra Chahal had an economy of less than while all the others conceded runs over 11 runs per over.

New Zealand posted a massive total of 219/6 in 20 overs, where Seifert top-scored with 84 in 43 balls, which includes seven fours and six towering sixes. Indian batsmen were never in this chase and got bundled out for 139 in 19.2 overs. Tim Southee was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/17 while all the other bowlers also contributed with regular wickets. India lost the game by 80 runs and is 0-1 down in the three-match T20I series. The next game will be played on February 8 in Auckland.
