Sri Lanka Test skipper, Dimuth Karunaratne was the lonely warrior in the second Test against India in Bengaluru on Monday (March 14). He went on to score a century on a tough pitch during the Pink-ball Test with his brilliant technique against spin bowling of high class. No wonder the cricketing fraternity was in awe of him and congratulated the southpaw for his knock.

Congratulatory messages flooded in for Dimuth Karunaratne on social media as well. However, he unknowingly goofed up while responding to one of the tweets. Voice of cricket, Harsha Bhogle had lauded him for scoring a fourth innings century in August 2019. And the Sri Lanka captain mistakenly responded to that three-year-old tweet thanking Harsha.

Harsha Bhogle’s earlier tweet read: “A fourth innings hundred is special. And it has come from a very fine player. #DimuthKarunaratne. The tweet came on August 2019 to which the 33-year-old replied on March 15, a day after the Bangalore Test ended.

Interestingly, Harsha Bhogle didn’t tweet for Dimuth Karunaratne after his century in Bengaluru. He lauded Sri Lanka’s counter-attack on the third morning as a refreshing approach from Kusal Mendis and Karunaratne. But once wickets started falling, despite the latter’s brilliance, India soon wrapped up the proceedings to register a thumping win by a huge margin of 238 runs.
