It actually belongs to the manufacturer – ‘Remfry’ which makes these thigh pads. Owned by Steve Remfry, ‘Remfry Cricket’ has been manufacturing custom-made cricketing gears since 1987.

Virat Kohli started using these pad first in the year 2016. Finding them comfortable and suitable for his body, Virat has stuck with them since then and till date makes use of the brand accessory. In June 2017, the manufacturers shared a picture of Kohli donning Remfry thigh pads and they termed him ‘the world’s best batsman’.
Virat Kohli is not the only cricketer to use this accessory though there are many other famous international cricketers who use these thigh pads. Few names amongst them are English Wicketkeeper Jos Buttler, South African Wicketkeeper Quinton De Kock, Steve Smith, Shakib Al Hasan, Yuvraj Singh etc.
