During the 44th match of IPL 2016 between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Lions at Bengaluru, RCB scored a record-breaking 248-3 in 20 overs. Virat Kohli, Royal Challengers’ captain, had won the toss and chose to bat. It was in this match that Kohli and AB de Villiers stitched a 229-run partnership for the second wicket, highest in the IPL. The match saw Kohli and de Villiers scoring individual hundreds. Kohli scored 109 (55) with the help of five fours and eight sixes. On the other hand, de Villiers had scored 129* (52) with the help of 10 fours and 12 sixes. RCB comfortably won the match by 144 runs.
