Harbhajan Singh Announces Him Make A Debut In Acting

The veteran Indian off-spinner, Harbhajan Singh took to Instagram to share the poster of his debut movie “Friendship”, on Friday. In the poster, Harbhajan Singh can be seen alongside South Indian actor Arjun. Harbhajan’s first movie is in Tamil language and has been directed by John Paul Raj and Sham Surya.

The off-spinner has made it to the list of very few cricketers who have acted in the movies. Harbhajan Singh’s debut movie “Friendship” is set to release in August this year. Here is the poster of his debut movie:

Harbhajan is a part of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) since 2018. Like most cricketers, Harbhajan Singh too was looking forward to the upcoming edition of the IPL. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to postpone the IPL indefinitely as a safety measure.

Singh made his international debut for India back in 1998 against Australia in a Test match at Bengaluru. Since then, he has played 103 Tests for India and went on to scalp 417 wickets. He is the third-highest wicket-taker for India in Tests. In ODIs, Harbhajan has featured in 236 games and has 269 wickets with an economy rate of 4.31. In T20Is, he has 25 wickets from 28 matches with an economy rate of 6.20. In IPL, he has played 160 matches and scalped 150 wickets with an economy rate of 7.05.

Currently, India is going through a nationwide lockdown. Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus positive patients in India went past 236000 with almost 6700 people losing their lives on Saturday, as per the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

Almost the entire is in a lockdown due to the scare of the ever-escalating situation concerning the World Health Organisation-recognized pandemic that is the Coronavirus. Everything- schools, colleges, airports, railway stations, gyms, sporting events, movies, offices- have been put under lockdown as the world continues to self-isolate in order to control the pandemic.
