The second T20I of the 3-match series between India and Australia is scheduled to be played at the VCA stadium in Nagpur. Australia chased down a mammoth total of 209 runs in the first T20I to take a 1-0 lead in the series. India’s bowling has been their biggest weakness in recent times, and another dismal show by the bowlers was on display in the first T20I where they failed to defend 208 runs.
Apart from Axar Patel, none of the Indian bowlers managed to concede the flow of runs. India will be hoping to improve their weak areas in the bowling department and make a comeback in the series. On the other hand, Australian batters did their job pretty well. Cameron Green played a blinder (61 off 30) while Matthew Wade gave the finishing touch (45 off 21). Nathan Ellis and Hazlewood were the stars with the ball for them in the first game.

Skipper Aaron Finch would want his team to maintain its winning ways in the 2nd T20I and clinch the series. Hence, another cracking contest is expected here between these two sides, especially with the series at stake for the home side.

India will be eyeing to include Jasprit Bumrah to predominantly bowl the tough overs at the back-end of the innings while Bhuvneshwar is used mainly in the Powerplay. An able alternative to Harshal Patel, who went for 0 for 49 in the series opener, is Deepak Chahar. Australia’s top six consisted of right-handers in the opening game and that could mean Yuzvendra Chahal getting another chance.
