During the 30th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Delhi Daredevils (DD) at Pune, Chennai Super Kings’ KM Asif bowled an indifferent over, which saw him giving away 15 runs and also taking his second wicket.

After Shreyas Iyer put the home team in to bat, Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis started the innings on a watchful note, but picked up after the first few overs. The duo ended up sharing a 102-run stand for the first wicket. Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni came in to bat in the 14th over after Watson was dismissed by Amit Mishra. Dhoni did not waste time in getting his eye in, playing his shots from the word go. Rayudu, on the other end, provided equal support to his captain.

KM Asif made his IPL debut tonight.

In the second innings, Delhi Daredevils did not get off to the best of starts, losing Prithvi Shaw (9) in the first over itself. What further dented their progress was the wicket of Colin Munro in the fifth over.

Asif, who also made his IPL debut tonight, was brought on from another end to bowl his second over. On the third ball of the over, Munro read his slower delivery fairly quickly, only to hit it past the point boundary for a four. He followed it with a powerful stroke down the ground for the same result.

On the penultimate delivery, Munro played an upper-cut to a Asif delivery, which ended up being a six. Munro once again tried to pull the ball, but this time played it straight in the hands of Karn Sharma at deep midwicket. He ended up scoring 26 (16) with the help of three fours and two sixes.
