3. Captaincy debut of Ravi Ashwin

The ace Indian off-spinner has not featured in the Indian limited over matches for quite some time. Yet the demand for him at the IPL 2018 auction was paramount. R.Ashwin perhaps one of the most versatile bowlers going around will be taking the new challenge of captaincy with his new team – Kings XI Punjab.

In every interview that he speaks, it becomes more and more clear that Ravi Ashwin has a thinking brain. He has an immaculate cricketing sense and he thinks a lot about the game. It will be interesting to see how he strategizes for this Punjab team to win the maiden IPL trophy for them.

Ashwin’s another unique aspect is that he is the only bowling captain in the IPL currently. A different perspective will definitely help KXIP propel forward.
