Mumbai Indians
Rohit Sharma, Jaspreet Bumrah and Hardik Pandya
The retentions from Mumbai were no-brainers. They went one step further as they continued the retain the core of their team with buying back Kieron Pollard and Krunal Pandya.
Rohit has had a miserable season with the bat except for his two good scores. His lack of runs has cost the Mumbai Indians dearly. Two of their wins have come when Rohit has performed. Unless he clicks, Mumbai’s qualification for the playoffs is under a threat.
One of the finest death-bowlers going around, Jasprit Bumrah, who was trained under Lasith Malinga, has not had a memorable season. Although Bumrah has been extremely economical this time also, he has failed to win the matches for Mumbai. He has taken 11 wickets this season with an economy of 6.92
Another retained player who initially looked off-colour in this season the stylish all-rounder Hardik Pandya. After an ordinary season, it was the match against RCB where Pandya got into the wickets and also scored crucial runs at the end to keep MI’s hopes alive. He is currently holding the purple cap with 14 wickets.
