The 2019 IPL is on the mark and will kick-start from March 23 with the big opening clash coming between the rivals Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore which will stop our heartbeats for a while and the result of the match will be very unpredictable.
For this season there have been several changes of players in each team, few players like Shikhar Dhawan, Marcus Stoinis had been traded before the auctions and there were 61 players sold in the IPL auction held in the month of December. There are many players who have returned to their previous franchise or to the franchise of their hometown.
Let us look at the performances of the players against their new franchise in previous seasons.
5) Henrich Klassen vs RCB (32)
It was a virtual quarter-final match between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore where both teams were on 12 points and was a must-win for each to have the hope for IPL playoffs. Royals had won the toss and elected to bat first and after 13.2 overs Royals were 101/3 wickets down with Rahane and Samson falling to Umesh Yadav in a succession.
Henrich Klassen who was replaced with Jos Buttler to keep the wickets came to bat and started hitting all over the ground with his unorthodox shots trying to reverse sweep and smashed 3 fours and a six which quicked few fast runs for the Royals and was caught off by Mooen Ali at long-off on 32.
He also had a good day in the field as he did an outstanding job with gloves behind the stumps as he got three batsmen stumped out, all big wickets of Parthiv Patel, Mandeep Singh, and the big fish AB de Villiers. It will be a game for Klassen to remember.
