Stars are expected to come on the floor when the two heavyweights, Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings will face each other at Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday night. Both teams have a different journey so far. Mumbai has won just one game out of their three matches while Chennai managed to pull the heist in all three of those. Mumbai and Chennai have their share of history in the IPL and this rivalry will witness another page unfolding tomorrow at the Wankhede.

MI

Mumbai Indians

MI last played against Kings XI Punjab in Mohali, where they lost the game by eight wickets on the back of a brilliant half-century by KL Rahul. Mumbai looked a bit rusty with the bat and only Quinton de Kock managed to post a 50+ score while others threw their start away cheaply. Hardik Pandya’s finishing touch took them to 176/7 but it was never enough to defend the total.

Suryakumar Yadav is struggling to score runs in the ongoing season of IPL and may get replaced by Ishan Kishan. Kieron Pollard is yet to fire this year and could lose his place to Ben Cutting, but it is unlikely at this early stage. Rest of the lineup will remain same.

Probable XI: Rohit Sharma (C), Quinton de Kock (WK), Ishan Kishan, Yuvraj Singh, Kieron Pollard/Ben Cutting, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Mitchell McClenaghan, Jasprit Bumrah, Lasith Malinga, Mayank Markande.

Chennai Super Kings

CSK is doing their usual thing, winning the game and topping the table. The defending champion has won all three games they have played this season. The most recent win came against Rajasthan Royals on Sunday night, where they survived a Ben Stokes-onslaught towards the end to win the game by eight runs. MS Dhoni was the star from that game with unbeaten 75-run innings, which propelled Chennai’s score to 175/5.

There can be few changes in CSK’s squad. Mitchell Santner can make way for Faf du Plessis while Ambati Rayudu can be replaced by either of Harbhajan Singh or Mohit Sharm, keeping the pitch condition of Mumbai in mind.

Probable XI: Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis, Suresh Raina, Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni (C/WK), Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh/Mohit Sharma, Sharduk Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Imran Tahir.
