Sunrisers Hyderabad was hosting Kolkata Knight Riders with hopes to take revenge of their first game of this IPL season. SRH won the toss and asked KKR to bat first, who named several changes in their playing XI. Sunil Narine gave them a blazing start and 25 runs off just 8 balls but when he got out, Hyderabad bowlers made some serious inroad and reduced them to 73/4. Chris Lynn kept one end tight to put a 51-run partnership with Rinku Singh, but things were going too slow for them. Lynn departed after his fifty and there were no fireworks from Andre Russell this time around. In the end, KKR managed just 159/8 in 20 overs.

Too slow to be Lynn

Explosive opener Chris Lynn played a slow innings according to his standards. He was holding one end tight when their wickets were falling from the other end. Lynn played according to the need of the situation to score his fifty. His got out to Khaleel Ahmed after scoring 51 runs in 47 balls, where he hit four fours and one six.

Toothless bowling lineup

Kolkata named few changes in their bowling lineup but they were unable to lead them to a win. They hardly trouble Hyderabad openers, who stood hard to take their team over the line. Yarra Prithviraj took the lone wicket of David Warner but he was leaking regular boundaries. Hence, it took just 15 overs for SRH openers to chase the target down.
