His ability to bowl yorkers in the death overs and also has a lot of variations to put the batsman on their toes, he still remains the only bowler to take a hat trick on his debut IPL game against Rising Pune Supergiants in the 10th season of IPL. Tye was the highest wicket-taker of IPL last season taking 24 wickets in the tournament and also won the Purple Cap.

He is the only bowler to take hat tricks both in IPL and BBL and has 3 T20 hat tricks in his career equalling Amit Mishra’s record. Tye will be the most handful and productive bowler for Punjab and will be responsible along with Mujeeb-Ur-Rahman for Punjab’s bowling management. He took 17 wickets in the Big Bash League.
