Sunrirsers Hyderabad (SRH) was locking horns with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in teh third match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 and the latter came out as winners. Yuzvendra Chahal was the wrecker-in-chief for the RCB as he scalped three crucial wickets of Manis Pandey, Jonny Bairstow, and Vijay Shankar and gave away just 18 runs. The Bangalore based franchise won teh match by 10 runs.

The game started on a good note for the SRH skipper, David Warner as he won the toss and asked RCB to bat first. In reply, RCB managed to score as many as 163 for 5 in the allotted 20 overs with debutant Devdutt Padikkal and veteran AB de Villiers scoring fifties.

Padikkal and Aaron Finch added as many as 90 runs in the first 90 overs before departing in quick succession. Captain Virat Kohli did not last long either as RCB found themselves in trouble. However, De Villiers made sure that teh team reaches a respectable total and slammed 51 off just 30 deliveries to ensure RCB end up with a challenging total.

In reply, SRH was on a verge of having a good start as Jonny Bairstow and David Warner collected 18 runs from the first nine balls before the latter was run-out. After Warner’s dismissal, Manish Pandey and Bairstow added 71 runs for the second wicket before Pandey getting out in the 12th over. Pandey’s dismissal almost triggered a collapse for SRH was for a score of 120/2 in 15 overs they went down to 142/8 in 18 overs. Eventually, they got bundled out for 153 in the final over of the match.

After coming up with consistent performances in domestic cricket, Devdutt Padikkal was expected to perform in IPL and he delivered. RCB needed someone to play a fiery knock as an opener and Padikkal managed to do that well as he smasged the SRh bowlers from the word go. He added 56 runs off 42 balls with the help of eight 4s.

AB de Villiers

When RCB was his trouble after the dismissal of Vorat Kohli, AB de Villiers shouldered the responsibility of scoring runs in the slog overs as he smashed the SRH bowlers hard. However, he amassed 51 off just 20 balls with the help of four 4s and a couple of 6s.

Yuzvendra Chahal broke the crucial partnerships of SRH for RCB when they needed it the most. He was the wrecker-in-chief for the RCB as he scalped three crucils wickets of Manis Pandey, Jonny Baistow and Vijay Shankar and gave away just 18 runs. He can become the highest wicket-taker in IPL 2020.

SRH skipper, KL Rahul didn’t had the best of start to his IPL 2020 campaign, but he was looking in good touch. However, his joy didn’t last long as he was dismissed for a meager score of 6  in the 2nd over during the chase in an unfortunate manner. He will be expected to make a strong comeback in the next game.
