The tournament has almost progressed to the playoffs where teams like Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals have almost qualified.

After winning both their matches, Chennai Super Kings has the best net run rate in the second phase of the tournament after winning two games consecutively.

Former Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Gautam Gambhir says that Dhoni should come up to bat in the order for more advantage to the team with the kind the experience he has in the league history.

“MS Dhoni should bat at No.4 once CSK qualifies for the playoffs, irrespective of whether you are chasing or batting first so that you are able to spend time in the middle. I will want to see that, hopefully it happens. The best thing about a captain is that it is his own wish, he can bat anywhere he wants,” Gambhir said on Star Sports.

In the on-going season of IPL 2021 so far, MS Dhoni has scored only 51 runs for the team and hasn’t played the knock that blew people’s senses with those big sixes into the stands.

As playoffs are around the corner, the teams have been gearing up to play their best Cricket to reach close to the IPL trophy.

Chennai super kings do have the attacking players at the top but Suresh Raina hasn’t been much good enough to score runs in the tournament with his age factor.

The pitches are good to bat but when wickets fall there should be the experience factor in such situations to rescue the side from the hiccups and the early dents and put the team back into the game.

“Your No.3 and No.4 will not always score runs. You need to bat a little more. The more runs you score, it will keep getting easier,” he added.

“You will qualify for the playoffs but it should not happen that the responsibility falls on you, you lose early wickets and you have to come and score runs,” Gambhir signed off.
