There is not even a slightest of doubt about the fielding standards of Faf du Plessis. He is one of the best fielders in the cricketing world. He is a live wire on the cricketing field and no one really knows what he can pull off with his fielding. A similar example was on display during the match between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad in Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium.
Manish Pandey was batting well in the middle after scoring his half-century. He was looking set to send bowlers in all corners of the ground and had started striking the ball well in the death overs. His partner David Warner from the other end was finding it hard to score freely, which put Pandey in the pressure of tightening the screw. Hence, he decided to go after Lungi Ngidi.

Pandey stroked him through covers for a fine boundary before playing an even better shot. The bail was sailing over the long-on boundary for a maximum until Du Plessis came in the middle with his acrobatic effort. Everyone was shocked that the ball didn’t go for a six.
Du Plessis was patrolling the long-on boundary and kept his eyes on the ball and ran towards it. He timed his jump to perfection and took an amazing catch to dismiss Pandey for 61.

Warner and Pandey scored their respective fifties but were unable to score those runs quickly. It was Kane Williamson and Kedar Jadhav’s late blows that took their score to 171/3 in 20 overs.
