Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli announced his decision of stepping down from the captaincy after the conclusion of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2021. This news came on the back of Kohli’s decision to step down from the captaincy of the Indian T20I team post the T20 World Cup 2021 in the UAE.

Everyone expected Kohli will try to end this season on a high by winning the maiden title for the franchise. And started his last days of the captaincy with a poor outing against Kolkata Knight Riders in the 31st match of the IPL 2021 in Abu Dhabi.

Virat Kohli won the toss and opted to bat first in a blue jersey, which RCB are wearing to support the covid-19 frontline warriors. He came out to open the innings with Devdutt Padikkal. Prasidh Krishna came to bowl the second over of the innings and was hit by Kohli for a boundary through the cover region.

However, the lanky pacer took his revenge by dismissing the talismanic batsman for 5 on the very next ball by trapping him in front of the wicket. Kohli opted to have the decision reviewed but it went in vain as replays showed three reds.

This passage of play left fans stunned who have been waiting for Kohli to return in his usual form and start to score runs like his prior self. One fan even went on to say that Kohli is no more an extraordinary player but just an ordinary player.
