Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals are playing in the 47th match of the Indian Premier League 2021 in Abu Dhabi. CSK are a win away from securing a top-two finish while RR needs to win this game to stay alive in the competition.
Sanju Samson won the toss and elected to bowl first. He named as many as four changes in the playing XI as Shivam Dubey, Glenn Phillips, Akash Singh and Mayank Markande find their way in. CSK, on the other hand, made two changes and brought Sam Curran and KM Asif in place of Dwayne Bravo and Deepak Chahar.

Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis gave CSK a good start and shared 47 runs for the opening wicket before Rahul Tewatia dismissed the latter. Suresh Raina’s poor form with the bat continued as he got out after scoring just 3 runs. Moeen Ali threatened to score quick runs but Tewatia outfoxed him as well.
Gaikwad, meanwhile, was looking solid from the other end. He tore the Rajasthan bowling lineup apart in the death overs. Ravindra Jadeja, coming at number six, gave him good company. He started scoring boundaries as soon as he came out to bat.
In the final over of the innings, Jadeja played an outrageous shot while on one knee. He premeditatedly remained on one knee and smashed Mustafizur Rahman for a six.
