The Indian cricket team locked horns with the Ireland team for the first T20I of the 2-match series in Dublin on Wednesday and after winning the toss, the Irish skipper Gary Wilson once again elected to bowl, reasoning that in this venue its difficult for the teams to defend the total.
However, the Indian scoreline is suggesting that Wilson’s decision became all wrong as KL Rahul (70), who opened the innings with skipper Virat Kohli, built a partnership of more than 100 runs for the second wicket with Suresh Raina (69).
Rahul and Raina smashed almost all the Irish bowlers and in the slog overs, Hardik Pandya did the demolishing job as India reached a huge total of 213/4. During the chase, it was the third over bowled by Umesh Yadav, in which the pacer took a perfect revenge as first he got smashed for a huge six over cow corner but he made a comeback by Knocking William Porterfield over.

On the third over of the ball, William picked the slower one as he slog-swept the ball over deep midwicket. The ball was slow, loopy and full on off stump. Just wide enough from the batsman for him to really free his arms. Following that ball, Umesh bowled one full, straight and on middle and Porterfield tries being cheeky – attempting the leg-side ramp – but Umesh’s fiery pace has him beaten all ends up. The ball darts straight into the base of middle and the experienced Porterfield must walk back.
