Former Indian all-rounder, Irfan Pathan has said that the other three teams in the playoffs will be scared of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as they are coming on the back of a dominating victory in their last league stage match and will be high on confidence. Pathan also added that Virat Kohli seems to have found his form back and it has been the biggest positive for RCB in their last match against GT.
The playoffs for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 have started and Gujarat Titans (GT) has become the first team to reach the final of the season on Tuesday. RCB will now be locking horns with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Wednesday in the eliminator. The race for the fourth position in the points table was intense at the back end of the tournament but RCB registered an 8-wicket win over GT in the last over.
While sharing his views regarding playoffs, Irfan Pathan has opined that the other teams will not be taking RCB lightly RCB as they will be coming on the back of an emphatic win against GT.
During a chat on Stars Sports, Irfan Pathan said, “RCB are playing Eliminator for the third consecutive time in the TATA IPL. But the rest of the teams will be scared of them now. They are coming on the back of an emphatic win in their previous game and Virat Kohli seems to have regained his form which is the biggest positive.”
He further added, “He seems to have found his mojo back. His match-winning half-century (in their final league game vs Gujarat Titans) will bode well for the team while the rest of the batters are also chipping in with valuable contributions. No side can take a team like RCB for granted now. All three teams above them will be wary of RCB.”
RCB are aiming for their maiden title win in IPL 2022 and they have a chance of doing so this time around.
