The ongoing season of Indian Premier League (IPL) has not been going well for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as they have lost their last four games. Despite the heroics from Andre Russell and Nitish Rana at the end, they lost the game by 10 runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). They will next play against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Sunday, April 21. The middle order somehow unable to provide with the support which Andre Russell needs. Meanwhile, Joe Denly; who had played only one game for Kolkata, has left the side to take part in England’s domestic cricket.

The 33-year-old Joe Denly was brought by Kolkata Knight Riders at his base price of INR 1 crore. However, he bid adieu to Kolkata to play for Kent in England’s domestic cricket, a part of the county championship Division 1. After that, he is scheduled to play for Yorkshire at the St Lawrence Ground in Canterbury. He informed everyone about this on Twitter; where he wrote, “Home time!! Thank you to @kkriders for having me over the last month, amazing experience!! Time to get ready for a very exciting summer, starting Tuesday with @kentcricket.”

Joe Denly had a rather forgettable IPL season as he didn’t get the chance to play many matches. He got the chance against Kolkata’s game against Delhi Capitals in Kolkata. But unfortunately, he was not able to grab the chance and went for a golden duck. Ishant Sharma bowled him out in the very first ball of the game. He came in the place of regular player Sunil Narine and failed to keep his place in the squad. However, he is in the England squad for the upcoming ICC World Cup which is scheduled to start from May 30. Before that, he will also play against Pakistan.
