The fiery Delhi Capitals (DC) fast bowler, Kagiso Rabada has been leading the wicket-taking charts in IPL 2020 so far with 21 wickets in 10 games and is the holder of the Purple Cap, five ahead of Kings XI Punjab’s Mohammad Shami. Rabada has been one of the most consistent bowlers in terms of wicket-taking as also holds the record of most consecutive matches with at least one wicket in a game which is at 24.
Two weeks ago, Rabada also became the fastest bowler to surpass the tally of 50 wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He reached the landmark in just 27 matches. In this edition of the IPL, the fast bowling duo of South African pair of Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje has been delivering fireballs for DC.

Some commentators have also gone on to describe the pair as one of the most lethal in IPL history. But Rabada dismisses it saying that while they are bowling they have the responsibility of fulfilling the job and they do not think about such things.
During a recent press conference, Rabada said, “When we are playing we have a job to do, and we take it one game at a time. We do not go around thinking that we are the most lethal pair in IPL history. It is the last thing that we will ever do. It’s awesome bowling with him (Nortje) and he has done really well. He has got a lot of pace and he is always willing to learn and is open to new ideas.”
He further added, “Myself and him, we always give our best for the team. That’s just in our nature. We have done very well till now, and hopefully we will soon qualify for the playoffs, and do well at the stage where it matters the most.”
Kagiso Rabada also was seen showering a lot of praises of their skipper Shreyas Iyer, and said that it can be quite a challenge leading other senior players, but felt that the DC skipper had been doing extremely well.

Talking about the captain, Rabada explained, “Shreyas has been really unbelievable as captain. He is young, especially for a captain leading overseas players, and on a big stage such as the IPL. But he has Ricky Ponting and other senior players to guide him whenever required, which is probably one of the reasons we have been so successful. So he has got all the tools around him and I think he has used them well so far.”
