Ajinkya Rahane’s struggle to convert starts continued as he was dismissed for 36 runs in the ongoing clash between Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants in Lucknow. For the second consecutive match, Rahane was assigned the opening role for Chennai Super Kings. Initially promoted to the top order in the previous encounter against Mumbai Indians, Rahane had a brief stay at the crease, managing only five runs.

In the current game, Ajinkya Rahane seemed to be finding his rhythm before falling victim to a superb delivery from Krunal Pandya. The right-handed batsman faced Krunal in the ninth over and was bowled out on the first delivery.

Krunal Pandya delivered a well-pitched ball, tempting Ajinkya Rahane to play across the line. However, Rahane misjudged the line, failing to make contact with the ball, resulting in his dismissal as the ball crashed into the leg stump. Despite his departure, Rahane contributed 36 runs off 24 balls, including five fours and one six.

Ajinkya Rahane’s dismissal marked the third wicket loss for CSK in the ongoing game, with Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja taking charge at the crease. Prior to Rahane’s departure, CSK had already lost the wickets of Rachin Ravindra and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad. In the opening overs, Lucknow Super Giants’ decision to bowl first paid off as Mohsin Khan bowled Rachin Ravindra for a golden duck in the second over.
