Former English captain Michael Vaughan recently claimed that he never saw any better batsman than Virat Kohli across three formats. Vaughan also feels that Kohli is better than Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara and Ricky Ponting like legendary batsmen.

The Indian skipper Virat Kohli is currently in a dream form with the bat. The 30-year-old right-handed batsman has already broken some reputed challenging records and he is in the top mood to break the other records as soon as possible.

Talking about Kohli’s batting, Vaughan claimed that the Indian skipper has the high skill levels and an incredible mentality to deal with the pressure situations. Vaughan further claimed that Kohli is the best batsman ever whom he saw.

Vaughan wrote in his column for Fox Sports, “I know we talk about Kohli a lot but he is different. I have not seen a better player. I’m not disrespecting Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara or Ricky Ponting but across three formats of the game I have not seen anyone better.

“He has such high skill levels and an incredible mentality when it comes to dealing with the pressure of the chase. All that while dealing with a weight of expectation and adulation that only Sachin would have experienced.”

In that column, Vaughan also wrote about the Australian Test batsman Usman Khawaja. While Vaughan wrote it at the end of day three of the ongoing Perth Test between the hosts Australia and the visitors India, Khawaja was batting on 41 runs.

After some disappointing performances in the ongoing Test series, finally, Khawaja has begun to show his batting quality during Australia’s second innings of the Perth Test, who finally managed to score a valuable 72 runs in the second innings.

Vaughan wrote at the end of day three, “There is no better time than right now for Usman Khawaja to step up and make a major contribution for Australia. Khawaja was kept quiet in the first innings but he’s a quality player with great numbers, particularly in Australia. It was never going to be too long before he stepped up with an innings of note. He went to stumps on day three on 41 not out and with this game on a knife’s edge, the team desperately needs him to carry on.

“If he can step up this innings when the team really needs him to it will fill him with confidence going to Melbourne and Sydney.”
