Mitchell Marsh continued his sensational IPL 2026 campaign with another explosive innings for Lucknow Super Giants, tearing apart the Chennai Super Kings bowling attack at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. Although Lucknow Super Giants have struggled for consistency this season, Marsh has emerged as one of the team’s biggest positives with his fearless batting at the top of the order.

The Australian all-rounder once again grabbed headlines after launching a brutal assault on young pacer Anshul Kamboj during the powerplay. The carnage unfolded in the fifth over of the innings when Marsh completely dominated Kamboj, smashing four consecutive sixes along with a boundary to collect 28 runs from the over.

The right-handed batter targeted both the cover and square-leg regions with clean, powerful hitting, leaving the Chennai bowlers under immense pressure. Mitchell Marsh initially began cautiously, relying more on boundaries along the ground before shifting gears dramatically. Once set, the Australian opener unleashed his full range of attacking strokes and raced to a stunning half-century in just 21 deliveries.

The innings also marked a major personal milestone for Marsh, as he completed 100 sixes in his IPL career during the knock. By the time of writing, the aggressive batter had already smashed five sixes in the match, taking his tally for IPL 2026 to 29 maximums.

Marsh found excellent support from Josh Inglis as the pair produced a breathtaking powerplay performance for Lucknow Super Giants. Together, they added 86 runs in the first six overs, registering LSG’s highest-ever powerplay score at the Lucknow venue.

Interestingly, Chennai Super Kings have struggled repeatedly against Lucknow’s aggressive starts this season. Earlier in the tournament, LSG had hammered 91 runs in the powerplay against Chennai at Chepauk as well.
