Afghanistan all-rounder and their former captain Mohammad Nabi has signed a deal with Leicestershire to play England’s domestic T20 tournament in 2018. Nabi will play as an overseas player for the team. Nabi became the second Afghanistan player to sign in England’s domestic T20 tournament as the leg-spinner Rashid Khan has already signed with Sussex for this season.
33-years old Mohammad Nabi, who is a right-handed batsman and off-break bowler, will play for Leicestershire in the 2018 edition of England’s domestic T20 tournament which is known as Vitality Blast.

Nabi is an Afghanistan all-rounder who has played 93 ODIs and 60 T20Is for his nation. Nabi has scored 2,173 runs (average 29.76) in ODIs and 961 runs (average 20.44) in T20Is with the bat while he has taken 96 and 61 wickets in ODIs and T20Is respectively.
Nabi is looking forward to joining with the team as he said, “I have heard a lot of good things about the Foxes. I am looking forward to working with Paul Nixon and joining a professional and ambitious county with a good track record in T20.”
Paul Nixon, the former English wicketkeeper and present Leicestershire head coach, said that Nabi will fit in team beautifully. Nixon quoted, “I know all about Mohammad Nabi’s qualities in the game. He can make a huge impact in our middle order and is an off-break bowler who operates with great control and skill. Nabi has a brilliant white ball record for Afghanistan and in T20 competitions around the world. He is exactly the type of player that we were looking for and is somebody who will fit in beautifully here.”
Nabi was the first Afghanistan player to be sold in Indian Premier League (IPL) when he was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 30 lakhs. In 2018, Nabi has been bought again by the Sunrisers Hyderabad and this time his price was INR 1 crore.

Nabi also featured in 2017/18 Big Bash League for Melbourne Renegades where his performance was very good.
Earlier, Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan has signed for Sussex to play the Vitality Blast tournament in 2018.
