In a fresh outburst on social media, Hasin Jahan, the estranged wife of Indian pacer Mohammed Shami, has levelled explosive allegations against the cricketer, accusing him of spending years bribing criminals to harm, harass, and malign her reputation. The comments, posted via her official Instagram account on Friday, July 4, come just days after the Calcutta High Court directed Shami to pay a monthly allowance of ₹4 lakh—₹50,000 for her and ₹3.5 lakh for their daughter Aaira—as part of an ongoing divorce settlement.
Hasin Jahan, a former model, didn’t hold back in her strongly-worded post, calling Shami “characterless, greedy, and mean-minded.” She alleged that he used family money on “crooks and prostitutes” instead of securing a future for their daughter or investing in their family’s well-being.
“What have you gained in these seven years of legal battle?” she wrote. “You destroyed your family because of your immoral behaviour.” She further alleged that Shami took advantage of a “male-dominated society” to escape accountability while tarnishing her image with the help of “antisocial people.”

“If the money you wasted was spent on your daughter’s education and our family’s happiness, you could have lived with dignity,” Hasin Jahan stated, adding that her fight for justice would now continue through legal channels.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2014, saw their marriage unravel in 2018 when Hasin accused Shami of domestic abuse and infidelity. Since then, the issue has played out both in court and in the public eye. While Shami has maintained his innocence throughout, this latest development puts the focus back on his personal life at a time when he is not part of India’s Test squad due to injury and poor form.
