Chennai Super Kings (CSK) icon MS Dhoni has finally addressed one of the more bizarre myths associated with him — the claim that he used to drink five litres of milk daily. Appearing on a light-hearted, sponsor-led talk show hosted by the franchise, Dhoni was asked about the strangest rumour he’s heard about himself. Without missing a beat, the veteran wicketkeeper-batter dismissed the claim as “ridiculous,” clarifying that he has never consumed more than a litre of milk in a day — and that too, spread across different times.

In a clip shared by CSK on their social media channels, MS Dhoni was also cheekily asked whether he made his lassi in a washing machine, a reference to another viral internet joke. With a laugh, he brushed it off, saying he doesn’t even enjoy lassi, much less prepare it that way.

Off the field and into the thick of IPL 2025 action, Dhoni has recently taken over the CSK captaincy from Ruturaj Gaikwad, who is sidelined for the rest of the season due to injury. But the transition hasn’t been smooth. In the three games under Dhoni’s leadership, CSK have managed just one win, while suffering two losses — the most recent being a crushing nine-wicket defeat at the hands of Mumbai Indians at Wankhede.

Speaking after that loss, Dhoni hinted that CSK may already be shifting focus to the future. “We’ll take it one game at a time,” he said during the post-match broadcast. “But if we don’t make it, what’s important is to lock in our core for next season. We don’t want to make wholesale changes.”

Head coach Stephen Fleming echoed Dhoni’s sentiments, admitting that while it’s tough to stay motivated when the team is underperforming, nothing from this season would go to waste. “Some of the work done in tough seasons has laid the foundation for title runs in the years that followed,” he said, signalling that CSK are already planning for a stronger comeback in 2026.
