MS Dhoni promises that he will learn and improve Tamil in next IPL

Since the invention of the Indian Premier League (IPL), MS Dhoni has a long and strong relationship with the Tamil language as he has played for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) non-detachedly, excluding when it had been suspended for two years (2016 & 2017). Recently, Dhoni has promised that he will learn and improve Tamil in the next IPL season.

Since the inaugural IPL edition, Dhoni is leading the CSK side passionately. While CSK is one of the best ever IPL sides in the history as they have won the record three IPL trophies (equal with Mumbai Indians), Dhoni becomes the best ever captain in the tournament history.

Recently, during a TNPL (Tamil Nadu Premier League) match between Madurai Panthers and Kovai Kings at the Tirunelveli’s Indian Cement Company Ground, Dhoni made a surprise attend.

At there, Dhoni said that he learns Tamil in every IPL season, and also assures that he will learn a bit of Tamil in the next IPL season too.

According to PTI, Dhoni said, “What brings me here is the TNPL (Tamil Nadu Premier League), of course, to start off. Every time I play IPL, I learn Tamil and once the tournament ends I have to start from scratch again. I will make sure that by next edition of IPL, I’ll learn a bit of Tamil.”

While Dhoni further claimed that he follows TNPL in every year, he also described that how Tirunelveli is important for him.

He commented on that, “Also this is a special place, this is where India Cements started. I have been with them (India Cements) for a long time so, this gives me an opportunity to come and see the first Plant over here.

“Along with that, every year I come down and watch a few games of the TNPL, this is the first game I will be watching this year in person. Looks like challenging conditions here with the kind of breeze blowing.”
