Netflix To Release Documentary On ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020

The latest documentary of Netflix, ‘Beyond the Boundary’ is based on the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 which took place between February 21 and March 8, earlier this year. The Australian women’s team went on to clinch the title for the fifth time after defeating India in the final showdown in Melbourne.

The tournament witnessed some young talented woman cricketers, because of which it attracted more cricket fans than ever before switched on to watch the match. For instance, the final of the tournament was played on International Women’s Day in front of a record 86,174 spectators at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground. In terms of broadcast viewership and digital engagement, the match also broke a lot of records.

Through the documentary, cricket fans will be getting a chance to relive all the action, excitement, and emotion from the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020. With absorbing visuals, commentary, and interviews in the build-up to and during the event, the documentary has managed to capture the progress of the teams and the emotions of players ahead of the crucial matches.

Explaining the same, ICC CEO, Manu Sawhney said, “The film captures all the action and drama from the tournament, which set new benchmarks for not just women’s cricket but all women’s sport and gives fans around the world the chance to relive one of the greatest ICC events we have ever staged.”

In the documentary, the fans will also manage to witness the views of commentators and administrators, a celebration of the crowds, behind-the-scenes, and dressing room footage. Apart from that, pop star Katy Perry’s performances before and after the final match are all part of the film.
