Team India have named Prince Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi as replacements for pacer Harshit Rana and spinner Varun Chakaravarthy in the ODI and T20I squads, respectively. However, India will play an ODI series against England, which will be followed by a T20I tour of Zimbabwe as well.

However, Rana felt a sudden discomfort in his right hamstring during the third T20I against England. Scans eventually confirmed a Grade 1 injury, ruling him out of the upcoming ODI series against England. He will also report to the BCCI Centre of Excellence (COE) for further assessment and management.

Chakaravarthy, on the other hand, suffered a similar issue in the same match, reporting discomfort in his left hamstring as well. An MRI scan then revealed a Grade 2 injury, and on specialist medical advice he has been ruled out of the T20I series against Zimbabwe too. He too will report to the BCCI COE for further management as well.

However, Prince Yadav has been added to both squads, while Ravi Bishnoi comes in as a replacement in the T20I set-up. Notably, India have lost a five-match series to England 4-0 after facing a series loss against Ireland.

Meanwhile, India changed leadership after securing their second successive ICC Men’s T20 World Cup crown, with Shreyas Iyer taking over from Suryakumar Yadav as the captain of the T20I side.
