Karachi Kings locked horns with Lahore Qalandars in the second match of the ongoing season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at the Karachi National Stadium. Lahore Qalandars bowled first after winning the toss. Karachi Kings got just the start they required in the match thanks to their openers Sharjeel Khan and Babar Azam. Both of them played brilliant knocks of 60 off 39 (Sharjeel Khan) and 41 of 33 (Babar Azam) before returning to the pavilion.
Babar Azam’s dismissal, however, was particularly special as it was a display of brilliant bowling from the Afghan spinner Rashid Khan. Bowling to Babar Azam on the 4th delivery of the 14th over, he completely fooled the Karachi Kings skipper into attempting to play a lofted sweep but it was completely mis-assessed on Babar’s part.

Rashid Khan managed to trick Babar Azam and left the latter baffled. The ball instead turned straight towards the wickets taking the middle stump and the fans were left awestruck by the delivery. The video of the wicket was posted by Pakistan Super League’s official Twitter handle and it went viral in no time. After all, Rashid Khan is widely regarded as the best T20 spinner of the decade for a reason.
After the two openers of Karachi Kings departed, their batting order fell apart like a deck of cards. The only other player whose performance was notable is Joe Clarke who scored 24 off 18. After him, every Karachi bowler scored single-digit runs. Karachi Kings thus managed to put up a total score of 170 runs. Haris Rauf was the best bowler for the Lahore Qalandars. He picked up as many as 4 wickets.

Coming on the chase, Lahore Qalandars have been off to a great start. Fakhar Zaman was good enough during the chase as he amassed 106 off 60 balls. Mohammad Hafeez played a supporting role as he amased 24 runs off 21 balls.
