The day started with Trent Boult dismissing last match’s Man of the Match Marcus Stoinis for a golden duck. Soon after DC lost a couple of more wickets of Ajinkya Rahane and Shikhar Dhawan. They were soon reeling at 22/3 in the 4th over when Rishabh Pant along with the skipper Shreyas Iyer made a strong partnership of 96 runs and got the team out of trouble.

In the process, Pant samshed his first fifty in IPL 2020 and was finally dismissed for 56 runs off 38 balls with the help of 4 fours and a couple of sixes. Despite the crafty innings on Tuesday, one has to admit that it has been a below-par season for the India wicket-keeper. Although he amassed 343 runs in 14 innings at an average of 31 this season, so much is expected of a player of his talent, and he wasn’t quite able to live up to that.

However, on Wednesday, Pant said that he was extremely proud of the DC team despite being upset at not being able to finish the season on a high.
