The forced break due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis has brought out a different side of a lot of cricketers. The players who were used to giving their everything on the cricket field while playing for the nation, came forward to help the needy people to help the pandemic. Similarly, the veteran Indian opener, Shikhar Dhawan has put his hand up by making some donations for the Hindu refugee from Pakistan in Delhi.
The southpaw opener recently paid a visit to the camp which has been established in Adarsh Nagar in Delhi and he pledged to donate the modular toilets. He also spent some valuable time with the people and decided to gift them with some cricket kits to the children in the camp. Moreover, the cricketer also promised to help them in whatever way possible.

Shikhar Dhawan has been missing the cricketing action for quite some time now as he played his last international game for India earlier this year in January during the home series against Australia where he got injured. Because of the injury, he also missed the New Zealand tour as well.

The Delhi cricketer was expected to make a comeback in March for the home series against South Africa but due to the coronavirus series was postponed. However, with cricketing actions expected to make a comeback slowly and steadily in some parts of the world, Dhawan can soon be seen on the field.
Rather recently Shikhar also said that he is looking forward to getting back to the turf. During a chat with India Today, Dhawan said, “For sure, I am looking forward to it (resumption of cricket). I am preparing quite strongly for that. Mentally, I am already there, visualizing that I am already playing great knocks I am in great touch.”

He further elaborated, “That helps me when I go over there and play. That’s what I do, that is my mental exercise. Once things settle down, and the government allows us to play, for sure, we are going to play. You will see us winning a lot of matches for India.”
