During the final Ashes Test in Hobart, the Australian top-order batter, Marnus Labuschagne witnessed a farcical dismissal while batting on 44 as he was trying to play across the line and clean bowled on delivery by Stuart Broad. Labuschagne shuffled a lot across the stumps to offside and tried to play a flick but his foot slipped and the batsmen fell down exposing the stumps.

The Aussies are currently taking part in the fifth Test in a Day-Night affair at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart. Labuschagne had a huge responsibility on his shoulders since the hosts were reduced to 12 for three in 9.5 overs. From there on, he played a decent knock of 44 runs off 53 balls with the help of nine fours and played at an incredible strike rate of 83.01 while facing the pink ball.

However, Marnus Labuschagned witnessed a comical dismissal. The 35-year-old Broad churned out a full-length delivery and Labuschagne tried to play the ball on the leg side. But the batter completely lost balance and couldn’t stay in position to play the stroke with precision. Subsequently, Labuschagne was bowled around his legs.

It was an important breakthrough for the visitors as Marnus and Travis Head had stitched together a partnership of 71 runs. After being put in to bat first, the home team found themselves in all sorts of strife. Ollie Robinson removed David Warner, who failed to open his account in 22 balls, to start the carnage.

Thereafter, Robinson also dismissed Steve Smith, who was also dismissed on a duck. Broad inflicted more mayhem for the hosts after he removed Usman Khawaja, who scored back-to-backs tons in the SCG Test. For England, Mark Wood leaked runs a bit as he went for 31 in three overs at a rate of 10.33. Chris Woakes also made a comeback into the eleven. Australia has already sealed the fate of the five-match series after winning the games in Brisbane, Adelaide, and Melbourne.
