The Indian batter, Suryakumar Yadav is known for his all-around game, especially in T20Is and nothing changed in the ongoing 3rd game of the 5-match series against West Indies at Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts. After Rohit Sharma won the toss and asked West Indies to bat, Brandon King and Kyle Mayers got their side off to a blazing start.

The dynamic Windies opener went past 50 runs without losing their wickets and it looked like they were on the way to taking a crucial 2-1 lead. But India got the much-needed breakthrough in the eighth over, bowled by none other than the flamboyant all-rounder, Hardik Pandya.

Eventually, the hosts amassed 164 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their quota of 20 overs owing to a brilliant half-century from Mayers. Surprisingly, all the Windies batters contributed to help the team to reach the significant total.

Rohit Sharma, who started the second over of the run chase with a six and a four separated by a dot ball, was soon seen struggling in the middle as the Indian physio came out to attend to him. A long discussion with the physio ensued as Rohit appeared to visibly struggle and he eventually decided to walk off. BCCI has confirmed that Rohit Sharma suffered a back spasm. Shreyas Iyer walked in to join Suryakumar Yadav as India looked to chase down 165 in St Kitts.

Suryakumar Yadav completed his half-century with a brilliant six off Akeal Hossein. However, in the next over of Alzarri Joseph, Yadav churned out a couple of exquisite shots one of which went for a six which was an extension of a lofted cover drive while the other one went for a boundary over the keeper’s head as he dropped on his knees and played a ramp shot.
