In a key moment during the IPL 2025 clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Lucknow on Friday (May 23), young leg-spinner Suyash Sharma turned things around dramatically, thanks in part to a timely intervention from none other than Virat Kohli.
Suyash had a rough start, conceding 12 runs in his opening over. Things didn’t get any easier in his next over as Ishan Kishan took him on with two consecutive boundaries before rotating the strike. Heinrich Klaasen, known for his clean striking, continued the assault by smashing another four, putting pressure firmly back on the young spinner.

At that point, Virat Kohli, ever the animated and engaged teammate, walked up to Suyash and shared a few words. Though their conversation wasn’t picked up by microphones, the result spoke volumes. Heinrich Klaasen was gone for a brisk 24 off 13 balls, and the breakthrough came just when RCB needed it.
The wicket was a critical moment in the game, temporarily halting SRH’s run charge. By the 13th over, SRH were cruising at 156 for 4, with Ishan Kishan looking solid on 48* and Nitish Reddy giving him company. Although eliminated from the playoff race, SRH were clearly determined to finish strong and potentially spoil RCB’s bid for a top-two finish.
