When the final day of the Lord’s Test between England and India started, the visitors were under serious pressure to save the day. Rishabh Pant was the man in the spotlight and everyone thought he would be decisive to the outcome of the second Test.

England came out with all the plans in their mind and it was time to implement them. Pant played one or two lusty shots to send shivers down England’s spine. But Ollie Robinson removed Pant and Ishant Sharma to calm the nerves down. England were looking at a possible victory at the moment.

Outcomes Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah. Several bouncers, abuses, sledges and whatnot were hurled in their direction but they found motivation of doing well rather than throwing their wicket away. Both Shami and Bumrah kept scoring runs and frustrated England bowlers.

Root tried everything to separate the duo but nothing worked. In the meantime, Shami notched up fifty with a huge six off Moeen Ali, second of his Test career. Both added 89 runs for the ninth wicket and gave India a lead of 271 runs.

It was England under pressure at this moment as they have to either wipe the target off or play out 60 overs to settle for a draw.

However, Shami and Bumrah were riled up by England players and they returned to dismiss both English openers for a duck and gave India a flying start. Haseeb Hameed found Indian bowlers too hot to handle and got out to Ishant Sharma. Jonny Bairstow brought some calmness but Ishant was relentless with his accuracy and dismissed him on the last ball of the second session.

Root was holding the key for England in the game and was the man whom India want to remove. Bumrah took only three balls after the tea break to find Root’s edge and Kohli grabbed a regulation catch in the slip cordon. Moeen Ali hung his bat for a while but Mohammed Siraj dismissed him and Sam Curran off successive balls to give India a sniff of victory.

Meanwhile, Joss Buttler was doing a good job defending against the Indian bowlers and he found a good partner in Ollie Robinson. Both batsmen ate 12 overs and a draw was looking the most likely result. But then came Bumrah and removed Robinson with his brilliance.

Siraj dismissed Buttler and James Anderson in the same over to write one of the best Test wins for India at Lord’s by 151 runs. He took four wickets in each innings and took key wickets every time Kohli asked him to bowl. KL Rahul was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant century in the first innings.
