In a lighthearted yet revealing moment caught on camera, Rajasthan Royals’ rising star Vaibhav Suryavanshi was seen playfully negotiating with teammate Nitish Rana for a bat. The exchange, shared by the Royals on social media, turned into a humorous banter filled with quirky one-liners, conditions, and even a cheeky reference to Virat Kohli.

Vaibhav, despite enjoying a rich vein of form with his own bat, seemed eager to try out one from the experienced Nitish Rana. However, Nitish wasn’t going to make it easy. “Main 5 bat deta hu tereko, agar uska ration 14 se upar gaya, to bat nahi milega,” Rana said, laying out a rather amusing condition that if the bat count exceeded 14, the deal was off.

Vaibhav wasn’t buying into the bundle offer. “Mereko ek hi chahiye, baat ye hai. Mujhe paanch nahi chahiye,” he retorted, keeping it simple. But Nitish wasn’t done yet. “Saari to teri nahi chalegi na beta,” he quipped, teasing the youngster.

What followed was a light debate about age, number of bats, and ownership rights, as Vaibhav argued, “Aapne bola agar 14 se zyada bats huye toh aap jisko bologe main de dunga.” To which Nitish, in peak comic form, replied, “Mere bat hai, meri marzi main kitne bhi du.”

Off the field antics aside, the Rajasthan Royals are keeping a close eye on regular skipper Sanju Samson, who’s currently sidelined due to a side strain. Head coach Rahul Dravid confirmed that the franchise is monitoring Samson’s condition daily, but emphasized they don’t want to rush him back before he’s fully fit.

Samson has already missed four matches—against LSG, RCB, GT, and MI. His absence has been deeply felt, as the Royals’ defeat to Mumbai ended their slim playoff hopes.

RR’s next fixture is against the Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday, May 4, at Eden Gardens—a must-win for pride, if not for points.
