Ashwin and Jadeja are the most lethal spinners in world cricket

Indian cricket team’s star players are soon to be expected to feature in County Championship in the upcoming season.

As per the reports of ESPNcricinfo, India’s spin-duo of R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja are being approached by the county team Worcestershire. Various first-class counties are looking for Indian cricketers and Worcestershire, in particular, has shown interest in the spin-duo and would like to play the last few weeks of the competition.

However, BCCI will take the final call regards to the Indian players’ appearance in county cricket. Team India is having a very tight schedule with Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka traveling to India for 23 international games in next couple of months.

The ongoing Sri Lanka tour is scheduled to commence on September 6 and will be followed by Australia’s tour of India for an ODI, but the schedule for that series is yet to be finalized. If that happens in October, Indian cricketers may be available for final three rounds of County Championships.

Apart from a few Indian cricketers, who have played county cricket, it has been a tough task for Indian players to sustain in country conditions. But, with India’s tour to England next year and skipper Virat Kohli’s eagerness to play county cricket, it may pave way for players in county cricket.

The report had also confirmed that India’s Test master, Cheteshwar Pujara might once again be roped in by the Nottinghamshire, the county for which he played for a short time. He played a crucial role in Notts win against Gloucestershire by scoring a memorable century.
