Despite the fact that the Indian skipper, Virat Kohli does the demanding job of being a captain on the field, he never fails to enjoy himself off the field. Apart from cricket, he is known to be an ardent follower of football and is co-owner of Indian Super League side FC Goa.
Ahead of the fourth Test against England in Southampton, Kohli’s lover for football took him to Southampton FC, where he was welcomed by their striker Danny Ings. He was even presented with a customized jersey of his own, with his name and the number 18, which he wears for India.
Southampton FC, referred to as ‘The Saints’, shared an image on their Twitter account, in which Ings can be seen presenting the Indian captain a Southampton jersey after his visit to St Mary’s Stadium. The image was captioned, “It was great to welcome @imVkohli and @BCCI to Southampton last week! #saintsfc”

The Indian head coach, Ravi Shastri has all praises for the team despite losing the series in Southampton, the coach said, “If you look at the last three years, we won nine matches overseas and three series. I can’t see any other Indian team in the last 15-20 years who have had that kind of run in such a short time. And you’ve had some great players in those series. It’s just [about] being tougher mentally. You’ve got to hurt, to lose such matches because that’s when you look within and come out with the right kind of answer. One day you will, as long as you believe.”
