The southpaw scored 2 fours and 2 sixes to his name at a strike rate of 127.59. After that, skipper Sanju Samson was caught and bowled by Wanindu Hasaranga for 8 runs. Meanwhile, Harshal Patel getting rid of Padikkal became the talking point on the internet.

The interesting thing about the dismissal was when Harshal Patel dismissed Devdutt Padikkal in an extra delivery which the on-field umpire made the bowler to bowl. Ahead of the delivery, the fast bowler pitched in a slower bouncer in the first place. Meanwhile, the umpire signaled it “wide”. As a result, Patel had to bowl an extra ball and he got eth wicket as Padikkal mistiming the ball, sending the white leather high into the air and Virat Kohli completed a stunning catch/
