The veteran Indian wicket-keeper batsman, Wriddhiman Saha sustained a thumb injury in IPL 2018 which was also followed by a shoulder surgery because of which he was unavailable for the selections for almost a year. But, there were questions raised over the BCCI medical team because they failed to find the actual problem in his shoulder before it got aggravated.

However, in a recent interview, Saha opened up on his time recovering from a career-ending injury. He is moving in mid-thirties but is still one of the best wicket-keepers across the globe. He has taken 103 catches and has dismissed 12 batsmen through his stumpings.

In an exclusive interview with Times Now, Saha was asked if his injury was mishandled and replied that it was not mishandled and according to him there was some miscommunication. He also added that he was focussed on remaining positive, so he never looked into the negative aspects related to it. It was difficult for him in order to recover from the injury but the medical team helped him a lot.

Talking to Times Now, Saha said, “It was not a case of mishandling rather I would say there was some sort of miscommunication. Post my surgery, whatever exercises the medical team used to give me I enjoyed them a lot and gave me 100 percent. And I had a gala time with all the physios, the medical staff and the players present there at that time, and hence it didn’t become boring. I just remained positive with just one thing in my mind – to get back to the cricket field again!”

Wridhhiman Saha was picked by the selectors on India tour of West Indies but Rishabh Pant was preferred and he got chance during the Test series against Proteas.
