Yuvraj Singh’s recent appearance alongside Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill in Chandigarh has sparked fresh speculation about the legendary all-rounder’s potential involvement with the franchise as they gear up for the IPL 2025 playoffs. The sighting of the World Cup winner walking shoulder to shoulder with Gill has raised questions over whether Yuvraj has stepped into a mentorship or advisory role with the 2022 champions at this crucial stage of the tournament.

The Gujarat Titans’ official social media post added fuel to the fire, sharing a picture of the duo with the caption: “Ki haal chaal, #TitansFAM?” With the Titans already confirmed for the playoffs, their final placement in the top four hinges on the outcome of the last league match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Lucknow Super Giants. Currently second on the table, Gujarat could slip to third if RCB clinch a win, thereby altering their playoff path.

Interestingly, Yuvraj was previously rumoured to be in contention for the head coach role before the season, a position eventually retained by Ashish Nehra. Despite those rumours not materialising, the 43-year-old maintains a strong rapport with both Nehra and Gill.

During the pandemic years, Yuvraj was instrumental in guiding Gill through intense one-on-one training sessions, fine-tuning the youngster’s technique and temperament.
Under Nehra’s leadership, GT have bounced back impressively in IPL 2025, winning nine of their 14 league games. However, back-to-back defeats against LSG and CSK have slightly dented their momentum going into the knockouts.

Should Yuvraj join even briefly in a support capacity, it could inject valuable experience and calm into the dressing room. After all, few understand high-stakes cricket better than the man who has lifted a T20 World Cup, an ODI World Cup, and two IPL trophies.
