2. Rahul Tripathi’s batting spot
One of the reasons why Rising Pune Supergiant did so well in the last season was their opener, Rahul Tripathi. He scored around 400 runs for them in the competition at a wonderful strike rate of 146. He scored two fifties at the top as well. This year, he was bought by Rajasthan Royals.
RR have slotted Rahul in the middle order though rather than at the top. He is coming out to bat mostly in the death over and needs to accelerate immediately. He has done well there also with a strike rate of 145 in the 42 balls faced in four matches.
With RR’s opening pair not firing, Rahul at the top will be a good option.
