3. Dhawal Kulkarni
Along with one of the costliest medium pace bowler Jaidev Unadkat, Rajasthan has another seam bowler with them, Mumbai’s Dhawal Kulkarni. The experienced bowler has disappointed with his performances so far though.
In the four matches played so far, Dhawal has bowled only 41 balls which equate to approximately seven overs. In these, he is yet to take a wicket. He has bowled at an economy rate of 8.19
SO far in the IPL, Dhawal has played 76 matches and has snared 75 wickets at an economy of 7.97. His best season was 2016 for Gujarat Lions where he took 18 wickets in 14 matches with best figures being 4/14. The bowler looks certainly past his best.
4. Chennai’s new home
Chennai Super Kings started off well in the IPL 2018 with two heart-stopping victories but lost the last match versus Punjab. In the first match, they defeated Mumbai Indians in Mumbai and kept their fort alive with a win over Kolkata Knight Riders at the Chepauk Stadium. The body blows were struck to CSK after that match as they lost their few players to injuries and also lost their home venue.
The positive for the Chennai to glean from this development is that Stephen Fleming was the coach of Rising Pune Supergiant in the last season. MS Dhoni was also one of the leading figures in the Pune franchise last year. Hopefully, these advantages will help Chennai in the homeless season.
