Sunrisers Hyderabad was hosting Kolkata Knight Riders with hopes to take revenge of their first game of this IPL season. SRH won the toss and asked KKR to bat first, who named several changes in their playing XI. Sunil Narine gave them a blazing start and 25 runs off just 8 balls but when he got out, Hyderabad bowlers made some serious inroad and reduced them to 73/4. Chris Lynn kept one end tight to put a 51-run partnership with Rinku Singh, but things were going too slow for them. Lynn departed after his fifty and there were no fireworks from Andre Russell this time around. In the end, KKR managed just 159/8 in 20 overs.

Jonny Bairstow was complimenting him from the other end with fine stroke play. Both players shared 131 runs for the opening wicket in 12 overs before Warner got out. There were no further hiccups as Hyderabad raced to the total by nine wickets with five overs to go.
