The team management reshaped the entire team except keeping big guns like Ajinkya Rahane and Steve Smith, who was expected to lead the team last year. But the infamous ball-tempering incident during Cape Town Test led BCCI to suspend him for the last season.

The reigns of Rajasthan fell in Rahane’s experienced hands, who is playing for RR since Rahul Dravid’s days. Rahane grouped the team well and fill them with the confidence to do well. Also, Rajasthan had several big names like Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes, and Sanju Samson, who all contributed regularly with the bat. Rahane backed his teammates well and finished among the top-20 run scorers in the tournament. However, the team management expects more from him but leading this team to the playoffs tells you Rahane’s captaincy caliber.
